Spear Farm featured at library program
Waldoboro — The Friends of Waldoboro Public Library invite the public to attend a program at the library Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. featuring one of Waldoboro’s business ladies, Janet Spear.
Spear, her husband Bob and several family members are carrying on a thriving farming business spanning five generations. Sharing photos, Spear will discuss the 80-year history of the farm and how it has grown.
Janet Spear’s main focus is the marketing aspects of the business.
She runs the day-to-day operations of two farm stands and three farmers markets. In addition, Spear organizes and leads agricultural-related tours in the US, Canada and abroad. Over the last 10 years, some of her trips have included Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Western Canada, and farms in Iowa.
