Waldoboro — The Medomak Arts Project has opened its doors at Old Number Nine, the storefront of 9 Friendship St., in Waldoboro Village. With a fresh paint job and a warm welcome, MAP offers teachers, artists, writers, musicians, students and makers of new media a facility for sharing interests with others in the community from Friendship to Washington and beyond.

One neighbor declared the space perfect for a yoga class, while another asked about setting up an easel and painting at Old Number Nine. Teaching Tai Chi, life drawing, a mini-film festival and dance are all ideas being considered and welcomed.

On Friday, May 23, Old Number Nine will be filled with music, art and friends as a live jazz, film and art event opens at 5 p.m. For more information on how to use MAP, call 832-5109 or email postcard@tidemarkgallery.com.
