Lincoln County residents age 60 years and older (and their partners or caregivers) are invited to learn to “Eat Smart, Live Strong” at a free workshop series presented by Healthy Lincoln County (Your Healthy Maine Partnership) and held at Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center, 251 Main Street in Damariscotta. The “Eat Smart, Live Strong” program motivates seniors to lead a healthier lifestyle, resulting in a longer, more independent life.
Older adults on a limited budget can improve health and well-being through nutrition and physical activity. Beginning on Friday, April 11 at noon in four, one hour, interactive sessions, taught by Healthy Lincoln County’s SNAP Ed Coordinator, Lara Cogar, adults will set and practice reaching goals, address challenges and solutions, jazz up favorite dishes, practice eating healthfully on a budget, and more. All sessions include some simple physical activity.
To register call 563-1363 by April 7. Workshops will take from noon until 1pm on February 11, 18, 25 and May 2. Although the workshop series is free donations in support of on-going community, information programs such as this one at Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center would be appreciated.
