Carla-Jo Kaler will lead a smoking cessation program, which begins Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Rockport — Ready to quit smoking? Pen Bay Healthcare’s Picker Family Resource Center invites the public to attend the next session of the Freshstart quit smoking program.

The free four-week program begins Tuesday evenings, Jan. 7, 14, 21 and 28, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Picker Family Resource Center on the Pen Bay Medical Center campus. Freshstart can be the start to a new life without cigarettes.

The Freshstart program is designed to help one stop smoking as quickly as possible. This is a two-part process, stopping and staying stopped. Learn new techniques for ending the physical and psychological need to smoke. Freshstart will give one concrete ways to handle two major obstacles: weight control and stress management.

Pen Bay Healthcare’s Picker Family Resource Center is pleased to offer these classes to the community free of charge. Carla-Jo Kaler, LPN, facilitates this program and looks forward to assisting individuals to become tobacco-free.

Please call the Picker Center to register at 596-8950.
