Kristi Williamson, left, and Shana Bloomstein are among the performers in Williamson’s multimedia production “Sky Hunter.”

Camden — Leap Dance Theater will present “Sky Hunter” Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 27 and 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the Red Door Barn, 46 John St. Tickets are $12 and space is limited; to reserve, call 975-5567.

"Sky Hunter" is a dance theater spectacle directed by dancer/singer Kristi Williamson of Camden, who has been collaborating with local artists in a continual development of a creative work that ties in the mystical poetry of Rumi with inspirational music and dance. The production is the current evolution of Leap Dance Theater, featuring wonderful local talent and projected artwork of renowned artist Michael Green.

The show features original musical compositions of bassist Max McFarland; an original song co-written by Williamson and Oliver Marwitz; and choreography of both Shana Bloomstein and Williamson. Dancers Kari Luehman, Bloomstein and Williamson share improvisation to poetry, world and modern dance, enhanced by musical contributions from singer/songwriters Andre Lascoutx and Amy Green, drummer Jeff Densmore and New York City jazz musician/educator Christine de Michele; and costume designs by artist/quilter Carrie Hedstrom.

After the Camden performances, the show will head to Kripalu Center for Yoga in Stockbridge, Mass., as a featured performance over Labor Day weekend for a course called The Mystery of Soul with national best-selling authors Thomas Moore and Sera Beak.
