Darcy Simmons and Jay Payne of Thomaston were wed July 20, 2013, at Beaver Lodge in Hope.
Darcy's maid of honor was Diane Joyce of Cushing. Bridesmaids included sister of the bride Dawn Brown of Middleport, N.Y., Michele Yoffee of Highland Mills, N.Y., Monica Krupa of Cato, N.Y., Debbie Simpson of Adams, N.Y., Ellen Dale of Staten Island, N.Y., and Judi Davis of Dunlap, Tenn.
Jay's best man was Daryl Wilson of Gordan, Ala. He was also attended by Robert Knigton of Blakely, Ga., Christopher Percival of Waldoboro and Timothy Sullivan of Rockland. The ring bearer was the great-nephew of of the bride, Dyllan Creedon of Fort Drum, N.Y. The flower girls were Maddison, Marissa, and Makayla Williams of Carthage, N.Y.
The wedding was officiated by Angela Percival. The bride's niece, Kristey Simmons of Belleville, N.Y., sang. Jessica LeCaptain was the photographer and Jeff Lumpkins and Jeff Curtiss of Maine Entertainment were the DJs.
Darcy is a teacher at Cushing Community School in RSU 13. She earned bachelors and masters degrees in education from SUNY Oswego and graduated from Belleville-Henderson Central School in Belleville, N.Y. Darcy has also taught at the St. George and Thomaston Grammar schools following her pre-school experience in Craig, Alaska.
Jay is a driver for Domino's Pizza in Rockland. He was graduated from Beuford High School in Beuford, Ga. He worked for Georgia Tubing for 20 years prior to moving to Maine. He also does wedding photography.
His children Delia and Nathan and granddaughter Jaqueline also flew up from Georgia.
The couple plan to continue to reside in Thomaston.
