From beginning to end, the Bible is full of accounts of what many would call miracles—from Moses parting the Red Sea to Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead and many other phenomena seen in the examples and healing works of Jesus, the apostles, and the prophets. Skeptics might write these off as fiction or as having some “natural” explanation, but so-called miracles occur regularly today as well, including individuals making what doctors would say are impossible recoveries from comas, or being healed of cancer or HIV/AIDS.

What is the basis for such “miracles,” and are they something that anyone can experience in everyday life? Mary Baker Eddy says that “a miracle fulfils God’s law” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 134). So, miracles are actually the natural outcome of God’s law, and they can be experienced consistently through prayer and a deep understanding of God’s law operating in our lives.
