Selectmen schedule public hearing on 'Fox Hill' zoning
Camden — Camden Select Board members expect to schedule a public hearing to consider the “Fox Hill” zoning amendments for Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 6:30 p.m. at Camden Opera House, according to Town Manager Patricia Finnigan.
The planning board recently approved sending the proposal to selectmen for possible inclusion on an upcoming ballot. Voters will be asked to approve a change that will allow residential treatment facilities as a special exception within the Coastal-Residential zone.
According to previously published reports, investors hope to partner with McLean Hospital to offer a high-end alcohol and substance abuse rehabilitation center at the property known as Fox Hill. If voters approve the zoning change, investors in Fox Hill Real Estate LLC can then proceed through the planning board process of applying as a residential treatment center at 235 Bay View St.
The Select Board expects to officially announce the public hearing at the Tuesday, Jan. 21 select board meeting and will discuss the process in more detail, Finnigan said, adding additional information will be posted on the town website before the end of this week.
