Selectman seat contest in Cushing
Nomination papers are in, annual town meeting set for March
Cushing — Two candidates for selectman seat number three are gearing up for the mid-March town election, according to the town office.
Residents Martha Marchut and Randolph Robbins have submitted nomination papers and are vying for the seat now occupied by Willard Payson.
Selectmen seat number one, held by Chairman Alton Grover, is uncontested as Grover seeks re-election.
Jonathan B. Harrington is the only person to return papers for budget committee seat number four, held by David Brown, who is not running for another term.
Assessor seat number one is also uncontested, with Evelyn Kalloch seeking re-election.
Voting will take place March 18 at the Cushing Community Center. The annual town meeting is slated for March 19.
