Second Sunday music at Harbor Square
Rockland — Singer/songwriters John and Rachel Nicholas will perform their soulful, acoustic Americana music Sunday, Jan. 12, at 1 p.m. at Harbor Square Gallery, 374 Main St. They will be joined by special guest David Dodson.
John and Rachel Nicholas have been making music together for more than 30 years. Their original songs are steeped in the varied history of folk and popular music, and their lyrics tell stories that are deep and true. They sing of love and loss and the strivings, comedies and everyday worries of the human heart.
John and Rachel Nicholas met and married in California. They spent two years in New York City before moving to Cape Cod, where they lived, raised a daughter and continued to write, record and perform for almost 30 years.
In 2012, the couple moved to Midcoast Maine and has been embraced by the music community. They have performed at the Sweet Chariot Music Festival for the last several years and have also become part-time members of Dodson’s band. They have shared the stage with Dave Mallett, Patty Larkin, Chris Smither, Paul Sullivan, Mary Gauthier and many other musicians throughout New England.
Admission will be $10 at the door. For more information, call 594-8700 or visit HarborSquareGallery.com.
