On Monday December 17, 2012, at 10:00 AM the Town of Camden will conduct a test of the Seabright Dam emergency siren.  The Seabright Dam is located on the Megunticook River in the vicinity of Mt. Battie Street.

The siren is a component of the Seabright Dam Emergency Action Plan and its purpose is to alert residents in the event that the Seabright Dam were to fail or appeared to be in danger of failing.  In the event of an actual emergency all low-lying areas adjacent to the Megunticook River downstream of the Seabright Dam should be avoided.

For the purpose of this drill the siren will be activated and allowed to run for approximately one minute.

Any resident wishing to view a copy of the Seabright Dam Emergency Action Plan could do so at the Town of Camden Public Safety Building located at 31 Washington Street.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact Ross Parker at rparker@camdenmaine.gov or 207-236-7955.
