Seabird Island Cruise set for July 13
Rockland — The Friends of Maine’s Seabird Islands invites the public to join them on its annual Seabird Island Cruise Sunday, July 13, at 4 p.m. out of Port Clyde.
This cruise helps to raise awareness about nesting seabirds and raises critical funds for the Friends’ group who support the conservation efforts of the Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Unique to this cruise, refuge staff and FOMSI naturalists serve as tour guides. They will help identify birds and other wildlife, and provide updates on their research and seabird restoration projects.
Tickets cost $45 per person, and $40 for members. Come aboard Monhegan boat line’s Elizabeth Ann and enjoy some light refreshments while viewing puffins, terns and other seabirds. Space is limited and advance reservations are required. Tickets can be purchased at the Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on 9 Water St. in Rockland.
