Sea Goddess applications now available

Rockland — The Sea Goddess Coronation Committee announces that online applications are now available to young women interested in entering the 67th annual Maine Lobster Festival Sea Goddess Pageant.

The 2014 Sea Goddess Coronation, steeped in tradition and pageantry, will take place Wednesday, July 30. As always, it will be one of the highlights of the 67th annual Maine Lobster Festival.

Prior to the pageant, participating festival princesses will participant in local events and activities that highlight and promote the 2014 Maine Lobster Festival.

The application and supporting information must be postmarked no later than March 31. Please mail to: Maine Lobster Festival Coronation Committee, P.O. Box 552, Rockland, ME 04841.

The Maine Sea Goddess Pageant is open to 20 eligible young women who meet the Maine Lobster Festival’s guidelines. Applicants must be single, a high school (or equivalent GED) graduate, not more than 21 years of age, and a Maine resident.

The young woman chosen as Sea Goddess receives a $2,000 cash award and represents the Maine lobster fishing industry at events in Maine and across New England throughout her one-year reign.

The 67th annual Maine Lobster Festival will be held on the Rockland waterfront Wednesday through Sunday, July 30 through Aug. 3.
