Sail, Power and Steam hosts harpist
Rockland — The Sail, Power and Steam Museum at Sharp’s Point South will presents The Heavenly Harp, a concert by Ellen Tepper, Friday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m.
Tepper, a harpist and historian, will bring life to 500 years of harp music. She spent most of her childhood in Vienna, Austria, where she began studying classical harp at age 8. Her abiding interest in early music was inspired by exploring ancient European culture. She is known for her humorous approach to historical anecdote, but is an authority on the early harp andin great demand as a lecturer and performer.
Her repertoire runs the gamut and ranges from the 13th century to classical, Celtic and folk … and may even include the last of the Irish minstrel harpers. Tickets are $15; call ahead for good seats, 701-7627.
