Sacred vocal music at noon
Camden — Noon Music in Lent, a free program of music followed by a simple lunch of soup and bread, continues its seventh year Friday, March 14, at noon at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, 33 Chestnut St.
The third program in this year’s series will feature soprano Kathryn DerMarderosian, who will sing a program of sacred songs by Tschaikovsky, Edwards, Hiller, Harriss and Dvorak, as well as spirituals and early American folk hymns. Jane Schroeder will accompany her at the piano.
The series’ musicians donate their time and have designated the free-will offering go to Episcopal Relief & Development, a worldwide humanitarian aid organization. Each program will open with a short noonday prayer.
The downtown church has a handicapped-accessible entrance with adjacent parking around the corner on Wood Street. For more information, contact Schroeder at 236-3680 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
