Ruth L. Light
Washington — Ruth L. Light, 89, passed away peacefully at the Windward Gardens Nursing home in Camden on Oct. 1, 2012. She was born on Sept. 24, 1923 in Rockland, the daughter of the late Harold and Josie Day Linscott. She grew up in Washington and attended local schools and was a graduate of Washington High School.
After high school she married Arthur Light Jr. and the two made their home in Washington where she worked as a homemaker. She raised her family in Washington and was always reluctant to leave the town she loved. She was an avid gardener and loved spending time with her plants and flowers. She also would keep a vegetable garden, something she was able to do up until two years ago.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Arthur Light Jr. and a daughter Hazel Rose. Survivors include: her son Lloyd Light of Shoreline, Wash.; grandsons William Rose of Warren, L. Kevin Light of Fountain, Colo., Bryan Light of Monument, Colo., Charles Rose of Vernon, Ill., and Nicholas Rose of Quawka, Ill.
A graveside service will be held at the Miller Yard on Friday Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Robin Honaker officiating.
