Rotary hosts exchange program information night

Jan 14, 2013

Rockport — Members of the Camden and West Bay Rotary Clubs will host a briefing about Rotary International’s Short-Term “Family to Family” Summer Exchange Program Tuesday, Jan. 22 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Lecture Hall at Camden Hills Regional High School in Rockport. Snow date is Jan. 29.

The program gives students, between the ages of 15 and 18 years old, the opportunity to be matched with a student from another country. The students will spend several weeks together in each of their homes and learn about each others' cultures, languages and customs.

The purpose of the program is to foster world peace, international understanding and good will by extending international communication at the personal level and giving teenagers the opportunity to experience a different culture firsthand.

Information about the program can be found at exchangestudent.org/EPShortTermExchangeProgram.cfm

The briefing will include plenty of time for questions and answers. Interested students and their families are all invited to attend. For more details email joanphaup@yahoo.com.
