Rollover crash in Owls Head sends driver to hospital
Owls Head — Public safety officials responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Ingraham Drive at 8:05 p.m. Sept. 4 in Owls Head.
Elaine C. Tobler, 76, was driving a 2009 Toyota with Florida plates south on Ingraham Drive. At the intersection of Knowlton Avenue, the vehicle left the road on the right side and went into the ditch, hitting a culvert.
The car became airborne over a driveway and landed just before 93 Ingraham Drive, according to Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison. The vehicle hit a tree and rolled over on the roof.
Tobler was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center by Rockland Emergency Medical Services.
Dennison said she later went to the hospital and spoke with Tobler.
The police report is incomplete as of 11:30 a.m. Sept. 5, so details are still sketchy, Dennison said.
Responders from the Knox County Sheriff's Office, Rockland EMS, Owls Head Fire Department and Rockland Fire Department were on scene to give care.
