Roland B. Stimpson

Cushing — Roland Boyd Stimpson, 84, passed away Nov. 20, 2013, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.

He was born Aug. 1, 1929. Roland lobstered for many years and owned his own canvas business. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Elks, the Legion and Cushing Historical Society.

Roland was predeceased by his wife Barbara K. Stimpson. Survivors include his children, Steve Stimpson of Cushing, Pam Kurtz of Lakeland, Colo.; grandchildren Stephenie, Heather, Dustin and Shane; and his kitty-cat Scooter.

Graveside services will be held in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to Cushing Ambulance Association. Online condolences may be offered at ripostafh.com.

Missed him last time I went to the Sunday Music Jam. Now I know why. Always had a smile, a kind word and couldn't that man play the spoons!! Rest in Peace,Roland.

Roland ,A great guy!!! always a cheerful word .WE will miss you dearly at the Steam and Sail power museum every Sunday. He so loved the music and playing along.My condolences to the family. Wayne Keiderling
