Rockport Automotive donates to Camden Public Library
Camden — The Camden Public Library was the beneficiary of this month’s Giving Back in the Community program of Rockport Automotive.
“As new owners of an established business the staff met and discussed how we can make a positive impact on this community. It was decided to take $5 from every oil change each month and award it to a local nonprofit. The Camden Public Library does a lot of good for and with its community, and serves all the children of the Five Towns school district," said owner Jan Campbell in a news release.
“About 190,000 visitors came through our doors last year, and we expect even more this year,” said Nikki Maounis, director of the Camden Public Library. “ We raise about 54 percent of our operating income through donations, grants, and trusts. Our mission statement is simple: The Camden Public Library is an anchor for the community. We bring people together to Read, Connect, and Discover. But to say it even more simply — we enable learning, in all its forms.”
Rockport Automotive presented the library with a check for $300 in early December. The funds were raised from Rockport Automotive’s oil-change donation program.
