There will be a board meeting directly after the meeting tonight.
Janet Page advised that there will be a Ways & Means meeting Thursday 1/31/12 at Trackside at 5:15, all members are welcome to attend.
Meals on Wheels, this week Marcy Wass and Paula Lavoie. The month of February is filled.
Per Katie Tarbox, a new member orientation was held and seven members attended.
Gordon Page passed the Eliminate Project collection jar.
The Aktion Club hosted an Interclub and they are working on several projects.Recognition of Members

Gordon Page had a birthday on 1/28.

Paula Lavoie received her permanent badge.

Janet Page was the secret greeter and she caught several people.
Badges were all ok.
Dan Saucier had the 50-50 winning number and he cut the joker!

Happy/Sads

Dan Saucier paid ten dollars for winning the 50-50. Bill Packard was happy for selling his business. Katie Tarbox was happy for moving her business to North Main Street, and happy for customers. Paula Lavoie was sad for missing two meetings and happy her husband Rick was able to attend tonight's meeting with her and happy for tonight's speaker Melissa Sweet. Gordon Page was happy for Paula Lavoie's permanent badge. Lindsey Taylor was happy for her birthday. Jackie Harjula was happy for our speaker, happy for Paula Lavoie. Sumner Kinney was happy for EJ Sullivan, happy for the new member application for Russ Cloutier's friend Vanessa, and happy for all of tonight's guests. Marjorie Kinney was happy for the evening meeting and happy for Stephanie Lunt Lynn Taylor was happy Lindsey's friend Beth got to meet Gordon Page and happy that she able to sing us tonight and at a recent concert. Amy Pease was happy for her baby shower and happy for our guests.

Speaker
Our Speaker Melissa Sweet talked to us about being a illustrator of children's books. She started with greeting cards and found that experience helpful in leading to the children's books. She is given the story at the time is is ready to be published. Most of the stories are non-fiction. The colors are blue, red, yellow or black. The books are trimmed and bound in China. Each book has it's own flavor. Much time and work in involved.
