Rockland — The Rockland Fire Department is building a memorial to remember the sacrifices made by first responders on Sept. 11, 2001.
The memorial at the fire station on Park Street will include two concrete towers to represent the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.
The number "343" will be displayed on the memorial; that is the number of firefighters that died when the Twin Towers collapsed on that sunny Tuesday morning nearly 11 years ago.
