Rockland Elks announce coloring contest winners

Rockland — Students in Susan Oliver's second-grade class were visited by Rockland Elks President Bill Bachofner Feb. 7.

Bachofner presented awards and gifts for participating in the Lodge's Drug Awareness Coloring Contest.

Each of the students were give a ruler and box of crayons for submitting their colorings and two students were each awarded a $25 gift certificates from Planet Toys from the Lodge and a book entitled "The Day the Crayons Quit."

There were 18 entries and the winners were selected in a blind vote by six lodge members. The two winning posters were entered into the Coastal District contest to be considered for state judging and awards.
