Rockland Community Sailing first in PBSL's second event

Boothbay Harbor — The newly-formed Pen Bay Sailing League held its second event of the fall series on Sunday, Oct. 9, as 30 Midcoast high school sailors competed in 10 races in Boothbay Harbor.

The Rockland Community Sailing team finished first in the event, hosted by the Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, and extended their lead in the three-part series.

The league final was scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 16 on Rockland Harbor, hosted by the Apprenticeshop.

Teams from Rockland Community, Boothbay Community, Mount Desert Island High School, Islesboro Central School, Oceanside High School and Camden Hills Regional High School participated in the Oct. 9 event.

Results from the event were: Rockland Community, 41 points (A team: Peter Galloway and Alton Coolidge; B team: Warren Galloway, Claudia Fox and Hallie MacDougal); Boothbay Community, 58 points (A team: Hamilton Barclay and Ella Beauregard; B team: Nate Rideout and Gabby Boord); Mount Desert Island, 63 points (A team Connor Ratcliffe and Lilly Anderson; B team: Alec Fisichella, Luke Ingebritson and Xan Rush); Islesboro Central School, 66 points (A team: Emily Lau, Ava Schlottman and Lake Lindelof; and B team: Rylee Sienkiewicz, Sophie Lau and Pia Gibson); Oceanside High School, 79 points (A team: Elliot Spear and Nathan Hersom; B team: Isabel Corona-Ferlauto and Andy Bird); and Camden Hills Regional High School, 116 points (A team: Alec O’Dwyer and Iris Luce; and B team: Luke James and Parker Stuart).

The fall series standings as of this event were: Rockland Community 2, Boothbay Community 4, Islesboro 7, MDI 7, Oceanside 10 and Camden Hills 12.
