Rockland church hosts adult sexuality, relationship course
Rockland — The First Universalist Church in Rockland is offering an adult program in sexuality and relationships starting Sunday, Oct. 14 at noon.
The church has been offering Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education programs for children and youth and is ready to add the adult program. Our Whole Lives helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. It equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health and society and culture.
Grounded in a holistic view of sexuality, Our Whole Lives not only provides facts about anatomy and human development, but also helps participants clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality.
Why should one participate in the adult level Our Whole Lives program? Whether one has never experienced a sexuality education before, or it has been a very long time, OWL provides participants with the tools to make informed decisions about one's own actions and responding to others.
Participants also will be able to enter discussions about sexuality in society from a more informed, solid position. Learn in a safe, relaxed environment, exploring values and actions in this group.
Monthly sessions through the winter will follow based on the group’s interests and schedules. There is a fee for non-members, although no one will be turned away because of financial difficulties. For more information, costs, or to sign up, call or email the church office at 594-8750 or email@example.com. Childcare is available upon request.
