Open house at Rockland School of Ballet
Rockland — The Rockland School of Ballet is opening the doors to its new downtown studio at 8 Lindsey St., across from Waterworks Restaurant and Pub. The public is invited to an open house and registration day Saturday, Sept. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Rockland School of Ballet spent the summer renovating the building that recently has housed a flower shop, a restaurant and a catering business, all at different times. Owner/director Emily Jenks has more than 22 years experience offering ballet and dance instruction in the Midcoas, and is known for her unique ability to bring the joy as well as grace, poise, beauty and discipline of the art of dance to anyone interested, regardless of age, ability or aspiration.
With "Miss Emily," students develop self-confidence, a positive self image and social grace in a fun-filled, safe, positive, educational and nurturing environment. Rockland School of Ballet offers progressive and dynamic classical, yet modern, ballet classes in the French, Russian, Italian and Finis Jhung Techniques, blended for a well-rounded dance education; as well as other dance classes such as tap, jazz, modern, contemporary and improvisation during the academic year.
Classes for children ages 2 through high school, and adults, will begin Monday, Sept. 24. For more information, visit rocklandballet.org or contact Jenks at 542-3556 or emily@rocklandballet.org.
