Portland — Maine State Ballet will present “Alice in Wonderland” Saturday and Sunday, May 11 and 12, at 2 p.m. at Merrill Auditorium, 477 Congress St.

Nearly 100 performers, including Cecile Burbank of Rockland, will dance and act under the direction of artistic director and former New York City Ballet member Linda MacArthur Miele. Dancers range in age from very young to adult. The program includes all the familiar characters from Lewis Carroll’s literary masterpiece, brought to life in imaginative costumes designed by Gail Csoboth.
