Road closure planned

May 21, 2014

Camden — A section of Route 1 in Camden will be reduced to one lane May 27 to 29.

The road closure will start at approximately 6 a.m. each day. The road will re-open in the evening. Drivers should be prepared for delays and detours and are advised to seek alternate routes.

Heading south, the work area will be just beyond the intersection of Union and Elm streets and heading north the work area will be just before the intersection of Union and Elm, near the Stop ‘n Go store and Congregational Church.

Coastal Opportunities is constructing a new building at 61 Elm St., that requires new water and sewer line connections. The existing Coastal Opportunities building located at 59 Elm St. will be demolished after the new building is completed.

The work is being performed by Farley & Sons Inc. of Rockport.

Great to see the work is being done by a local company.
