Riley School After Hours still accepting applicants
Rockport — The Riley School after hours program has spaces available for children ages 5-14. Riley After Hours, takes advantage of the school’s comfortable indoor spaces as well as the fields, trails and greenhouse on campus. The daily schedule includes: healthy snacks; free play both indoors and outdoors; facilitated sessions that provide engagement in art, science, agriculture, sustainability; and supported library/study hall time for individual or small group work. Private piano and flute or recorder lessons are also be available by special arrangement.
After-School Program Director Dave Hirshberg has a degree in Fine Arts from Montserrat College and has developed and led programs for children at the Essex Art Center and the Landmark School. He has a lifelong passion for drawing and painting rainforest animals, and involving each child in using their imagination to create exotic colorful parrots, reptiles, and amphibians in their natural habitat.
RAH! will run Monday to Friday, from 3 to 5 p.m. with a late pick up option until 5:30 p.m. Homeschoolers and children attending any area school are welcome. Students from Camden-Rockport elementary and middle schools can ride the bus from school to Riley each afternoon, as long as space remains available on the buses. Pre-registration is required but fees are charged by individual day use.
