Restorative Justice mentor training
Rockland — The Restorative Justice Project promotes fundamental change in the justice system and in schools, seeking accountability and reintegration of offenders, support and healing for victims, and renewal and safety for communities.
RJP is looking for mentors for residents at the Belfast Reentry Center and for youth in our Restorative Conferencing Program. Those who might like to spend an hour a week helping someone have a second chance, please attend an info session about training to be a Restorative Justice mentor.
There will be an introductory information session at University College at Rockland (4th floor Breakwater Building) Thursday, June 5, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. A light supper will be provided.
The remainder of the training will be held Thursday, June 12, 6 to 8:30 p.m. (potluck supper) and Thursday, June 19, 6 to 8:30 p.m. (potluck supper).
Please plan to attend all sessions in order to mentor. For more information or to RSVP, contact Hanlon Kelley at firstname.lastname@example.org, or 338-2742 ext.103.
