Resources for women in business talk
The Midcoast Chapter of Maine Women’s Network will host guest Jaimie Logan, the governor’s account executive for the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, Wednesday, Nov. 6.
This event is sponsored by member Kim Palermo of Elm Street Printing & Graphics, Inc., located at 94 Elm Street in Camden. This meeting will take place at The Haven on Route 90 in Rockport, from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m.
As the saying goes, “It’s not what you now, it’s who you know.”
In today’s hectic and info-rich world, it can be confusing, let alone time-consuming and frustrating to find the resources available to help a business start-up expand and grow in Maine. Logan will discuss what resources are available to women in business in Maine, and how help really can be just a phone call or email away.
With more than 16 years of leadership experience as executive director of the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce, Logan has an extensive background in assisting businesses with goal setting, marketing strategies and management. In addition, her legal background and training as a lawyer, as well as the numerous boards, advisory committees and task forces she has served on, has given her the valuable skills necessary to assist clients in identifying and analyzing business issues, and in developing strategies to help meet their goals.
In her current position, Logan works collaboratively across state government to help resolve business-related issues and match businesses with the resources and assistance that they require. Her service territory includes Lincoln, Knox, Waldo and Penobscot counties, and Greenville in upper Piscataquis County. She works one-on-one with businesses to help them navigate the state bureaucracy, and to serve as a knowledgeable and professional economic development liaison whose primary responsibility is to help businesses succeed and grow.
Guests and non-members are always welcome. Online pre-registration for members, guests and non-members is required by Friday, Nov. 1. Register online at mainewomensnetwork.com by clicking on the Event Registration link.
