Repurposing books at Gibbs Library

Apr 21, 2014

Washington — The Gibbs Library, 40 Old Union Road, will host a free book repurposing class Sunday, May 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. This free program is sponsored by the Paula Green Fund, in honor of a local artist.

Kate Cutko, director of the Bowdoinham Public Library, will share how she started this book repurposing project at her library and will include demonstrations, as well as hands-on experience, to transform “weeded” books into journals, ornaments and anything else the imagination can conceive. Bowdoinham Public Library made $1,000 in one day at a local craft fair selling items made from discarded books, maps and sheet music.

Class size may be limited; call Gibbs Library 845-2663 for more information.
