Register for University Winter Session Courses at University College at Rockland

By University College at Rockland | Oct 24, 2012

People who want to fill in a missing course, try something new or accelerate their progress toward a degree may wish to consider an online Winter Session course from the University of Maine System.

Winter Session is a shorter term between the university fall and spring semesters offering degree credit courses. The courses, which begin in December, allow students to earn additional credits or to explore areas of interest outside of the regular semester schedule.

Current students often enroll in a Winter Session course to complete a degree or to retake a course if needed. Those who expect to take a demanding load of courses during the spring may use the Winter Session to lighten the course load or use the opportunity to concentrate on just one subject.

Winter Session courses are offered online by the University of Maine at Fort Kent, The University of Maine at Machias, and the University of Southern Maine. For people just getting started in online courses, University College at Rockland offers instruction in all aspects of online learning, and students are welcome to use the center’s computer lab if they don’t have a high-speed internet connection at home.
