REAzON for Lunch for Agency Owners
The Real Estate Agency Owner’s Network (REAzON) has a luncheon scheduled for Thursday September 12th in Camden. Agency owners are invited to attend by contacting John Burgess at Camden Hills Realty.
The guest speaker will be Dr. Charles Colgan from University of Southern Maine. Dr. Colgan is Chair & Professor of the Community Planning and Development Program with the Ed Muskie School of Public Service/USM and Assistant Director of Business and Economic Research. The conversation will revolve Maine’s economy and 2014 projections.
The idea of a Real Estate Agency Owners Network is not new. Previous attempts have not gained traction, but in today’s business environment such a network may be timely and worthwhile. It’s an ever changing world of real estate and a changing business and regulatory climate as well, where one can’t be sure things are moving fast enough or even in the right direction.
The new age of real estate is based on technology, social networking, home offices, virtual meetings, clouds, and alike. Additionally, within Maine, business attraction, jobs, relocation, career mobility and population all weigh on the real estate industry and agency owner’s decisions.
This is the second meeting of the group with a goal to meet quarterly. The potential of such a network is significant when one considers that The Real Estate Commission licenses 4,755 brokers, associate brokers, designated brokers and sales agents and 992 real estate brokerage agencies (active licenses as of 3/1/13).
