Camden — The New England Real Estate Company successfully met its goal of more than $5,000 donated to PAWS animal shelter during its annual community celebration and second-year anniversary party Thursday, Dec. 5.

“On behalf of the PAWS staff and board, we can’t thank The New England Real Estate Company team enough for their hard work together with their many clients and friends who all donated much needed funds to PAWS. Beyond the funds that were raised for our organization, they all helped to raise a tremendous amount of awareness for PAWS and for that we are deeply thankful to the passion shown for PAWS,” said Amie Hutchison, PAWS executive director. “They not only helped put on a wonderful celebration party for the community but they also personally donated 20 percent - or $1,000 - towards their combined goal of $5,000, matching donations made by their clients and friends who attended the evening festivities.”

“Our entire team is not only excited to have successfully raised over $5,000 for the PAWS Animal Adoption Center in Camden together with our clients, family and friends but we also greatly appreciate that PAWS is a key local organization that looks out for animal welfare in our community and know that these donations will help them in the critical work that they do every day,” said A. Flint Decker, real estate broker and owner of The New England Real Estate Co. “Our clients were excited to be a part of our celebration and a direct part of our holiday fundraising efforts for PAWS. They love their animals, as we do in our company. We look forward to this effort being an annual cause.”

“Friends, family and clients were encouraged to bring their checkbooks to the party and make donations in $5, $25, $50, $250 or $500 amounts," Decker continued. “It was amazing. Even our clients who live out of state were involved sending in their donations by mail. The envelopes just kept on coming in and for that we truly are thankful!”

Other donations were made possible during the evening celebration on behalf of local author, Liza Gardner Walsh, as she personally signed copies of her new book, "The Maine Coon Cat," published by Downeast Books. All profits from her book sales were donated to PAWS.

The New England Real Estate Co. is located at 2 Bay View St.
