Rockport — Maine Media Workshops + College is offering a chance to be subject for photography's most prominent practitioners who have collectively photographed such icons as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Barack Obama, Jodie Foster, Bruce Springsteen, Bono and Michael Phelps.
Maine Media will host a gallery reception and silent portrait session auction Saturday, July 12, beginning 5:30 p.m. at the beautifully restored Union Hall, original home of the Workshops, 24 Central St.
Attendees can see work by and win a photo session with photographers whose work has graced the covers of TIME, National Geographic, Life, Vogue, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Sports Illustrated and the New York Times Magazine; and is held in permanent collections of museums around the world. The reception will feature access to artists in attendance including Sam Abell, Sean Kernan, Patrisha McLean, Joyce Tennesen, Greg Heisler, Douglas Kirkland, Greg Miller, Marco Grob, Michael Wilson, Connie Imboden and Cig Harvey.
