Wednesday, April 16, the Carver Memorial Library will offer new story times the first and third Wednesday of each month featuring The Very Ready Reading Program. A child's earliest years set the foundation for all learning to come, and reading to children from birth is the key to developing skills that indicate later success in learning to read. This program is built with the tools to prepare the youngest learners with fun stories, songs, and activities that are designed just for them. For information on the times, call 548-2303.

All library programs are free and open to the public.

Saturday, April 19, starting at 10 a.m., Searsport Recreation's First Annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place at Mosman Park. They have (2) 20" bikes to raffle, a big bake sale, and fun! The hunt is open for ages 2 - 10 and is FREE to participate. Money raised from our bike raffle and bake sale will help fund our upcoming baseball season including some great upgrades to our field. Please bring your own regular size basket for hunting eggs. Volunteers needed for helping with activities and baking! If you love to bake and would like to donate, please contact Kari Cross @ 548-2769. Bike raffle tickets can be purchased before the hunt!

Thursday, April 24, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Historic Preservation Committee meeting will take place in the Town Hall.

Thursday, April 24, starting at 6:30 p.m., the Shellfish Committee Meeting will take place in the Dan Rich Public Safety Building.

Sunday, May 4, the Carver Memorial Library will hold its annual Spring Tea. Call 548-2303 for a reservation at either of the two settings.

I talked to Bobby Seekins yesterday about the annual sweeping of the sidewalks and roads. He said they would be starting around the end of this week. If you are on a road that is swept, you may want to clean your property at the edge of the road.

Feel free to pass this on to interested people.
