Monday, September 9, starting at 6:30 p.m., the regular meeting of the Planning Board will take place in the Town Hall. This meeting will be televised.
Tuesday, September 10, from 1 to 6 p.m., a Red Cross Blood Drive will take place at the North Searsport United Methodist Church. Call 1-800-Red Cross for appointment or information.
Tuesday, September 10, starting at 7 p.m., the Searsport Historical Society will meet in the First Congregational Church. Dan Horton will be the guest speaker, whose topic will be new information on the Red Painted People, original inhabitants of the State of Maine. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
Tuesday, September 10, starting at 7 p.m., the next RSU 20 budget validation meeting will take place at the Troy Howard Middle School in Belfast followed by the budget referendum vote in each town on the following Tuesday, September 17.
Wednesday, September 11, starting at 6:30 p.m, the Mosman Memorial Park Association Annual Meeting will take place in the Town Hall Conference Room.
Saturday, September 14, starting at 4:30 p.m., the Searsport United Methodist Church would like to invite the public to join with everyone for their buffet style, all you can eat turkey supper with all the trimmings. $9.00 for adults and $4.50 for children 12 and under. All proceeds go toward the ministry of the church.
During the month of August, the ambulance responded to 48 calls for service and there were 3 inter-facility transfers. They also held their first blood pressure clinic held at Bangor Savings Bank. Their next clinic will be Tuesday, September 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. The fire department responded to 17 calls for service and issued 19 burn permits and there were several training and maintenance work sessions. The police responded to 229 calls for service. The Chief would like to remind everyone that school is open. Please stop for school busses with their flashing lights on.
