Washington — Only one person has returned nomination papers to run for selectman in the March election.

Longtime incumbent Selectman Wesley Daniel is running for re-election. He is seeking another three years on the board.

Papers were due Feb. 12.

Sean Donaghy is the sole nominee to run for school board. He was appointed to replace Cynthia Rosen, who resigned, and is seeking election to serve out the remainder of her term which expires in 2015.

The election will be held Friday, March 29, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Gibbs Library.

Town meeting will be held Saturday, March 30, at 10 a.m. at Prescott Memorial School. In addition to approving the budget, townspeople will be asked to approve an ordinance that would provide an excise tax exemption for active military personnel.
