Quint-Rose, Gill at Jackson Memorial
Tenants Harbor — The Jackson Memorial Library off Main Street/Route 131 will display work by St. George artists Marylin Quint-Rose and Lauren Gill from Friday, Oct. 4, through Nov. 11. The public is invited to an opening reception Friday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. All works are for sale, with the library receiving a 30 percent commission.
Quint-Rose has been a sculptor and collagist for most of her life. In the late 1960s, she taught fine art at the School of the Worcester Art Museum in Massachusetts. Her work has been exhibited internationally and included in several corporate and museum collections including the Portland Museum of Art.
Gill employs a number of media to create her works including oils, watercolors and acrylics. Her work has appeared in nationwide juried exhibitions where it has received awards, including the prestigious Collectors Gallery at the Albright Knox Museum of Art in Buffalo, N.Y.
