Camden — Drivers age 50 and older are invited to attend a half-day AARP Driver Safety course scheduled for Monday, Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill in Camden. In recognition of Veterans Day, Nov. 11, the course will be offered free of charge for all veterans and active-duty military-service members as well as their spouses, domestic partners, dependents, children, and widows and widowers.
AARP course instructor Don Lunt will cover vision and hearing changes, effects of medication, reaction-time changes, left turns and other right-of-way situations, new laws, and traffic hazards. No actual driving is required.
Upon successfully completing the course, drivers may be eligible to receive a state-mandated multi-year discount on their auto insurance premiums.

Those ineligible for the veterans fee waiver will be asked to pay $14 ($12 for AARP members) at the door to cover instruction and materials. Veterans and their family members must complete a coupon on the day of the course in order to receive the waiver; military identification will not be required.
