Recovered by Sheriff's Office, returned to breeder

Puppies stolen from kennel

Sep 21, 2015

Warren — Three German Shepherd puppies were stolen from a local breeder during the weekend, and have since been returned, said Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison Monday, Sept. 21.

The puppies, valued at $2,000 each, were recovered by the Sheriff's Office and returned to Sukee Kennels in Warren. The puppies had been sold, and were waiting to grow to eight weeks to be taken home by the owners, said Dennison.

Sgt. John Palmer is credited with getting the suspects to drop the puppies off at the Thomaston Landing, where Lt. Reggie Walker found the dogs with a note attached to call Palmer, said Dennison.

A person who answered the business phone at Sukee Kennels did not want to comment on the matter Sept. 21.

The incident remains under investigation.

Thank you Sgt. John Palmer for getting the suspects to drop the puppies off.  God only knows where they would have ended up.  Even though the suspects may not face criminal charges, I am very happy that the puppies are back at Sukee Kennels.
