Puppies nearly ready for adoption at the shelter
We have a litter of adorable puppies that have been growing bigger and stronger in a loving foster home these past several weeks and they are nearly ready to be adopted. There are nine in total, seven boys and two girls, each cuter than the one before. Their mother is a Lab/Rottweiler mix and the father's ancestry is unknown. Whatever the mix, they are darling. They've been raised on a farm with a doggie daycare, and have been around other dogs and cats and small children. They are well on their way to being fabulous family dogs. If you are interested in adopting one of these puppies, stop by the shelter and fill out an adoption application. We plan to have them visit the shelter Saturday.
Thank you to Loyal Biscuit for hosting our Microchips and Chocolate Chips event. Twenty-eight beloved pets were micro-chipped during the event, giving them the best chance of returning home if they should become lost without I.D. tags. Staff member Jen Davis did a great job injecting the microchips. Thanks also to Joan Vargas and volunteer Nancie Burton for their help. And of course, thank you to all the volunteer bakers who brought in trays full of delicious treats for our bake sale. Missed this clinic? We'll be scheduling more microchip clinics in the future. You can also stop by the shelter any time we are open and we'll gladly chip your pet. It's just $25. We also have a pet I.D. engraving machine on site to custom engrave a tag for your pet.
Don't forget to tune in every other Thursday to our adoption show "Reigning Cats and Dogs" on Channel 7 and Channel 2 in Belfast to meet new arrivals, hear about shelter news and upcoming events, training tips, happy ending stories and much more. Missed an episode? You can catch past episodes at our website hskcme.org.
