The John Street United Methodist Church, 98 John Street, Camden, invites the public to its bean and casserole supper and Christmas concert on Saturday, December 7.

The monthly public supper at the John Street United Methodist Church has a long tradition, falling on the first Saturday of each month.  At 5:30 pm on December 7, this month’s supper will be served in the fellowship hall of the church.  Diners will enjoy the home-baked beans and casseroles, with sides of rolls and a wide selection of salads, all topped off with slices of home-baked pies.  The cost of the supper is $8 for adults, $5 for children under age 12.

The church is also continuing its tradition of holding a Christmas Concert on the night of the December supper.  All are cordially invited, those who attend the supper as well as those who wish to skip the supper but come for the music.  As a gift to the community, the church is offering the concert without charge.  A free-will offering will be taken to benefit a local mission.

Once again, organist Dorothy Koski has arranged for a concert of seasonal music.  At 6:15, as folks gather in the sanctuary for the program, Koski and Barbara Marsh will present a prelude of organ and piano selections.

At 6:30, the full concert will begin.  The chancel choir will offer a variety of both familiar and new music and both Koski and Marsh have prepared solos and duets on the organ and piano.  This year well-known violinist Heidi Karod will be joining the musicians as a special guest.
