Potter short in Playwrights fest
Portland — Acorn Productions’ 12th annual Maine Playwrights Festival will run Thursdays through Sundays, April 25 through May 5, at the St. Lawrence Arts Center, 76 Congress St. This year’s lineup includes two schedules of short plays; a program of two-minute plays and monologues; a staged reading of a full-length play; and, on the final day, the 24-Hour Portland Theater Project.
Included in the “Take Two” program of two-minute plays and monologues is “Fee,” a monologue by Jonathan Potter of Rockport exploring the “unusual financial customs” of the festival itself. According to Acorn, “Take Two” will be presented with two vastly different interpretations Saturday, April 27, at 4 and 8 p.m. Admission is $15, $12 for students and senior citizens.
