Port Clyde Gallery opens for season
Port Clyde — The Port Clyde Art Gallery's first featured artist of the season will be Carol Abitabilo Ast. She will be exhibiting a collection of pastel paintings, under the heading of “Potpourri,” will open Wednesday, June 18. The public is invited to an opening reception Friday, June 20, from 5 to 7 p.m.
“Potpourri” will include Maine coastal scenes, a few special subjects and oyster portraits. Ast previously has exhibited at Port Clyde and the Damariscotta River Grill; and has been included in the Pastel Painters of Maine's annual juried exhibit, as well as those of the Pastel Society of New Mexico and the State of the Art Gallery in Ithaca, N.Y.
The exhibit of Ast's works, along with those of the gallery's long-term members, will be on exhibit through July 7. Gallery hours are Wednesdays through Mondays from noon to 6 p.m. The gallery is located in the red barn next to the Seaside Inn in the village, at the end of Route 131.
