PopTech’s Camden convening will take place from Oct. 17 to 20. This year's event will explore the science of resilience; what makes some people, organizations, systems and governments bounce back from disruption while others wilt. The conference is currently sold out, but the presentations will be available LIVE via a free live stream on the PopTech website. Also, a number of PopTech activities will be open to the public:
What: Pilobolus Outdoor Umbrella Project
When: Friday, Oct. 19, from 6 to 7 p.m.
Where: Camden Harbor Park & Amphitheater
Pilobolus is a venerable modern performance company that convenes groups of diverse artists to create athletic, collaborative works on stage and screen using the human body as a medium for expression.
On Friday night, Pilobolus will enlist several hundred volunteers to participate in a large-scale, live performance using umbrellas fabricated with multi-colored LED lights created by the MIT Distributed Robotics Laboratory. The performance will be simultaneously projected onto a large screen.
Volunteers are welcome on the spot. Whether you choose to participate or simply observe, remember to dress warm and join us at the Amphitheater for a great show brought to you by Pilobolus, the MIT Distributed Robotics Laboratory and your friends in the PopTech community.
