Poets’ Corner makes the rounds
Members of The Poets’ Corner, Rockport Public Library’s resident poetry workshop, will give two readings during National Poetry Month.
On Monday, April 24, several of the members will read at 4 p.m. at Camden Public Library. And on Thursday, April 27, at 4 p.m., The Poets’ Corner will wrap an every-Thursday series at Rockport Public Library with a reading from the group’s latest chapbook — two volumes this year, due to the expanded membership of this active group of writers.
The Camden reading will feature Jim Ostheimer, who co-founded the group with George Chappell; Trina L. French; Paul McFarland; and Bill Eberle. They will be joined in Rockport by Chappell, Lois Anne, Melissa Bryan, Catherine Dowdell, Eileen Hugo, Ray Janes, Joergen Ostensen, Meredith Overstreet, Susan Taylor, Joan Vose and Dana Wildes (or as many as can attend).
The group of local poets regularly meets the first and third Thursdays of the month from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Rockport Public Library, 485 Commercial St./Route 1. For more information, send email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
