Poets' Corner fetes Poetry Month in Rockport
Rockport — The Poets' Corner Workshop, which meets twice monthly at Rockport Public Library, is coordinating a series of poetry readings in conjunction with April’s National Poetry Month.
The series will begin Thursday afternoon, April 3, at the library, 1 Limerock St. Poets' Corner Workshop members will read poems that were inspired by being in the group from 4 to 5:30 p.m. A chapbook will be for sale, with proceeds going to the library 4:00-5:30 pm. Reading will be founding members Jim Ostheimer and George Chappell with Stephanie Marshall, Marilyn Hotch, Jon Potter and Bob MacLaughlin.
On Wednesday, April 9 from 6 to 7 p.m., Rockport Public Library’s Poets' Corner Workshop will host a poetry reading of young poets from Camden-Rockport Elementary School.
On Wednesday, April 16, Camden’s Dave Morrison will read his poetry from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Morrison has just released “Stethoscope” (JukeBooks 2014). The following Wednesday, April 23, Chris Fahy of Thomaston will read from his work; and April 30, Kristen Lindquist of Camden will do the same, also at 6:30 p.m.
The free and open-to-all Poets’ Corner Workshop meets the first and third Thursdays of each month from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the library. For more information, email Chappell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
