Poetry/spoken word jam at Bell The Cat

Jan 11, 2014

Belfast — There will be a poetry/spoken word open reading Friday evening, Jan. 17, at Bell The Cat, 15G Starrett Drive. Attendees can sign up, chat, snack and grab “a cuppa” from 6 to 6:30 p.m.; the open reading will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Belfast Poet Laureate Ellen Sander hosts this bi-monthly open reading in Bell The Cat's comfortable performance space. Everyone is invited to bring poems, spoken word, performance poetics, etc., to read, recite or to work on; and an instrument, if they play one, or a musician, to accompany poetry. The event takes place sitting around a poet's table or the beer and wine bar, with nom-noms or not.

Sanders said it is a great group and a fine occasion to congregate, poeticize, socialize and hear some intriguing works. For more information, email her at  laureate@belfastpoetry.com.
